Seattle Space Needle releases virtual reality app

Ever wanted to stand on Seattle’s Space Needle without leaving the comfort of your own couch? Well, now you can.

A new app called Space Needle 360º allows users to stand atop the tower’s spire and walk around its Halo (the outermost ring of the tower). Users can view in every direction by turning their smartphones. Software designers used special 360-degree cameras and robotic camera heads to gain footage otherwise not accessible to the Seattle public. Another feature of the app is a 360-degree birds-eye view of the city, which was filmed with cameras attached to a seaplane. Read more: travelpulse.com
