Italian mayor bans dogs from barking during nap time!
The mayor of the town of Controne in southern Italy has issued a decree banning dogs from barking between 2pm and 4pm during the ‘riposo’ afternoon nap.
If dogs defy the ban and dare to bark during the post-lunch quiet period, their owners could be fined between €20 and €500. The mayor’s crackdown on antisocial canine behaviour also decrees that dogs must not be left alone in public spaces, and that owners must rinse their dogs’ urine from the pavement.
