Inventor sparks interest with mini-submarines

A Vietnamese inventor from Ho Chi Minh City has peaked the interest of Southeast Asian travel companies with his miniature submarines.

Unable to build his subs in Vietnam he has already exported submarines to Malaysia last year. Reportedly, 61 year old Phan Boi Tran is currently working on an order of 300 mini submarines to be made in Thailand for an unnamed partner who plans to sell them onto companies within the tourism industry. The mini submarines made in Thailand will be around two metres long, 1.5 metres tall, built to carry one passenger and will have the capacity to dive to three metres for approximately two hours.
