Paris opens urban beaches along the Seine

Once again the French capital welcomes the Paris-Plages to the banks of the Seine. These artificial beaches will host a number of activities for visitors and locals, from watersports on the Bassin de la Villette to beach volleyball in front of the Hotel de Ville.

Alternatively, visitors can kick back on a deck chair and soak up the sun beneath the palm tree fringed beach on Georges Pompidou highway. Cultural pop-ups in the area include a Nile River-themed exhibition from the Louvre, a library courtesy of Flammarion Bookshop and a one of a kind event inspired by the iconic French children’s book Le Petit Prince. The Paris-Plages have become an annual event lining the banks of the Seine for one month each summer. Read more: telegraph.co.uk
