A 22 degree halo appeared above Abu Dhabi on Sunday. Residents were treated to the sight of a circular rainbow, which ringed the sun and was visible from noon for a few hours into the afternoon.
The phenomenon is caused by light refracted through tiny hexagonal ice crystals trapped within cirrus clouds. It is sometimes seen before rainfall, but no rain is predicted in Abu Dhabi this week. Read more: thenational.ae
