Last remaining Santa Barbara beach reopens after oil spill
It’s taken almost two months but the last of the California beaches affected by a massive oil spill back in May is now finally reopening.
When a pipeline ruptured off the Santa Barbara coast a large swath of shoreline was badly polluted. Hundreds of birds lost their lives and the clean-up has cost almost $100 million, but teams have worked hard to get the beaches into a safe condition again and Refugio Beach is the final one to reopen.
