Bathers urged to take care in Switzerland as number of drownings increase
People swimming in Switzerland’s rivers and lakes have been urged to heed warnings and take care as the number of drownings has increased to 26 this summer.
Bathing rules such as not swimming while intoxicated, not swimming long stretches alone and avoiding diving into murky waters are presented in German, Italian and French but will also now be translated into more languages as nine of the drowning victims were foreign nationals.
