Russian divers to go for new record in Arctic Circle
Russian scuba divers from the city of Kazan will attempt to set a new deep-sea record in the Arctic Circle.
They aim to perform a deep-water dive of more than 100m in the Barents Sea in northern Russia, which would be the deepest dive ever north of the Arctic Circle. The expedition is part of ‘The Seas of Russia’ project, which involves not only deep-water dives in all seas around Russia but also testing new equipment and collecting data on local marine life.
