Massive reconstruction needed to reopen Langtang to trekkers

A survey by the National Tourism Entrepreneurs Association of Nepal has revealed the massive levels of reconstruction that will be required to reopen trekking routes through Langtang National Park following the earthquakes in April and May 2015.

As well as widespread damage to trekking lodges and ordinary houses, many sections of trail have been obliterated on the route to Kyanjin Gompa. Rebuilding the trails will involve laying new stone and concrete paths and building new bridges and fixed railings to make the trails safe for trekkers. Read more: myrepublica.com
