Celebrations held around the world for Dalai Lama’s 80th birthday
Celebrations were held around the world, from India to California, as the 14th Dalai Lama turned 80 on Monday. Buddhist monasteries in India threw flowers and sang songs in honour of the revered Tibetan leader. The Dalai Lama spent the day at the Global Compassion Summit in California, where celebrations were held with a cake. In Dharamsala, India, the Dalai Lama’s exile home, thousands gathered donning traditional Tibetan costumes and playing traditional music. Read more: wsj.com
