World Wife Carrying Championships: Finland takes the title

Finnish team Ville Parvaianen and Sari Viljanen have won the World Wife Carrying Championships, held in Sonkajärvi, Finland, on Saturday. Now in its 20th year, the competition requires a man to carry a woman around a 253-metre-long track which features a one-metre-deep water obstacle. This year, the winners completed the course in just one minute and two seconds. The rules state that the couple don’t have to be married, but the woman must be at least 17 years old, weigh 49kg or more, and every participant ‘must have fun’. Read more: thesundaily.my
