UNESCO World Heritage awards allocated for 2015

The World Heritage Committee held its annual meeting to examine proposals and add sites to its World Heritage list over the weekend in Germany. Among those awarded UNESCO World Heritage status was Singapore’s Botanical Gardens – the first World Heritage site for the country. Other sites to receive World Heritage status around the world include South Korea’s Baejke historic areas, the Champagne region and Burgundy vineyards in France, Susa in Iran, Scotland’s Forth Road Bridge, The Alamo and San Antonio Missions in Texas, Japan’s Meiji Industrial Revolution sites, and Ephesus in Turkey.
