The battle to keep a new McDonald’s restaurant out of an historic neighbourhood in Paris continues as the Town Hall tells the fast food giant it will do everything it can to keep them away.

McDonald’s has applied three times for approval to build a three-storey branch in the second arrondissement in central Paris but all applications have so far been rejected. Jacques Boutault, mayor of the second arrondissement, has led the campaign and is backed by local residents and traders. Read more: thelocal.fr
