Tourist scales Brooklyn Bridge to take selfie

It might make for a great Instagram photo, but it is also illegal.

A tourist from Tennessee is the most recent person who has managed to scale the cables of the Brooklyn Bridge. David Karnauch climbed the famous New York bridge on Monday, taking a photo of himself with the city skyline that he later posted on Instagram (hasthags: #newyorkcity #nyc #again #gopro and #adventureaddiction). The incident comes after a rash of bridge climbs, most famously were the German artists who managed to swap the bridge’s American flags with faded versions in July 2014. The NYPD’s Deputy Commissioner of Intelligence and Counterterrorism said that had officers been on the bridge at the time, Karnauch would have been arrested. Read more: gothamist.com
