Beijing and Shanghai visitors to get tax back

Starting on Thursday, overseas tourists to Beijing and Shanghai will be able to reclaim tax paid on some purchases whilst travelling in the two cities.

An eleven percent tax refund will be available for purchases of ¥500 (US$80) or more in selected stores. The refund can be claimed upon the traveller’s departure from either city, as long as the claim is within 90 days of the purchase. Read more: shanghaidaily.com
