Seoul looks to shopping as antidote to MERS downturn

The city of Seoul has announced it will hold a month-long discount festival in July to encourage foreign tourists to hit the high streets.

Thousands of malls, restaurants, theatres and transportation outlets have joined the festival, which will see discounts of up to 70 per cent for foreign visitors.
