First hotel soap recycling factory to be created in Split

Have you ever wondered what happens to all the hotel soaps that get opened and used once or twice? Well, the bad news is that the vast majority of them are simply thrown away – in the Croatian coastal town of Split alone over 5.5 tonnes of hotel soaps end up as landfill each year. This will soon be a thing of the past in Split though, as the town is planning to introduce Europe’s first soap recycling factory to deal with the problem. The factory will employ local people with disabilities, who will sterilise the used soaps and reproduce them into fresh bars that will be sold under a special brand. Read more: croatiaweek.com
