Chicago to get bigger, taller ferris wheel on Navy Pier

This autumn an icon of the Chicago skyline, the Navy Pier ferris wheel, will be dismantled and replaced with a taller version to open in time for the pier’s centennial in 2016. The new wheel will feature temperature-controlled carriages and will rise to a height of 196 ft, nearly 50 ft taller than the current wheel. Read more: chicagotribune.com
