Influential Las Vegas developer passes away

Kirk Kerkorian, billionaire founder of MGM Resorts and financier of several Las Vegas properties, passed away on Monday night at the age of 98. Kerkorian is credited with being an influential developer of modern Las Vegas, helping finance several hotel-casinos on the Strip. Beyond his endeavours in Las Vegas, Kerkorian also founded MGM/UA Home Entertainment, the home-video arm of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, as well as investing  in several other industries including auto manufacturing and airlines.
