Cats in Taiwanese feline village get health check

Around 50 stray cats that live in a ‘cat village’ in Taiwan have been given a health check. The village of Houtong has become a tourist attraction due to its large population of around 200 cats, many of them strays or abandoned pets. Veterinarians and animal control officials neutered and vaccinated the strays in an effort to keep the cats healthy and keep population numbers under control. The village became known as a ‘cat Mecca’ after a local had the idea to create a village for abandoned cats. Read more: chinapost.com.tw
