Escaped zoo animals roam Tbilisi streets after deadly flooding

It is estimated that half of Tbilisi zoo’s 600 animals are on the loose after deadly floods hit the Georgian capital destroyed many of the zoo’s enclosures as well as dozens of houses. Residents have been urged to stay indoors as lions, tigers, bears and other animals roam the streets. Three zoo workers have been reported dead and nine others have died due to the floods. Many animals have since been rounded up by police and some of the more dangerous creatures have been shot dead. It is unclear how many animals have yet to be captured. Read more: aljazeera.com
