Vietnam’s deputy prime minister lists six issues ‘scaring’ visitors

Overcharging, the traffic in major cities, beggars and petty thieves, food safety, poor public sanitation, and lack of hospitality have all been named by Vietnam’s deputy prime minister, Vu Duc Dam, as problems that are affecting the country’s ability to attract tourists.  Dam stated these were issues that could be fixed and that the country should focus on these problems, which do not require a lot of money to resolve. According to official figures, Vietnam’s tourism industry brings in an estimated $10 billion per year, compared with $60 billion in Thailand. Read more: thanhniennews.com
