Oslo's bomb damaged building on endangered treasure list
The conservation organisation Europa Nostra has added a building in Oslo to a list of Europe’s ‘seven most endangered’ architectural treasures. Y-block was damaged in the 2011 bomb attack by Anders Behring Breivik and is set to be torn down to redevelop the bomb site. But campaigners say that the building – which features motifs by Picasso sandblasted into the concrete – is of cultural importance and are urging the authorities to consider alternatives to demolition.
