Moscow gets grandiose new museum space

Moscow’s Garage Museum of Contemporary Art , inaugurated in 2008, has a permanent new home in Gorky Park and it will open to the public on 12 June. The grandiose modern building is the work of Dutch architect Rem Koolhaas and the project is reportedly worth US$27 million. The museum’s founder is Dasha Zhukova, wife of billionaire Roman Abramovich. Over the years it hosted exhibitions of some of the most famous modern artists and has become an important institution on Russia’s contemporary art scene. Read more: themoscowtimes.com
