Rome's gladiator school to be restored thanks to Kuwaiti cash

Just a few hundred metres from the famous Colosseum, and connected to it by an underground tunnel, Rome’s Ludus Magnus, or gladiator school, has lain neglected for years and is often seen strewn with rubbish. But all that is soon to change, as the Kuwaiti government looks set to gift around €1.5 million to Rome’s authorities to pay for the restoration of the school and tunnel, where ancient Rome’s gladiators once trained.
