Agra woman goes viral for sexist wink response

A woman from Agra has become a social media sensation in India for trashing the Mercedes belonging to a local politician after his bodyguard gave her a sexist wink. In an apparent ‘straw that broke the camel’s back’ moment, the young lady ripped the diplomatic flagpole from the front of the car and used it to batter the windshield. Sexual harassment, known locally as Eve-teasing, is a common problem in India, but growing numbers of women are fighting back, at times physically, and social media is raising awareness of both the issue, and the fact that women have the power to respond.
