Parts of Himalaya fall three feet in Nepal quakes

Geological studies of the region of Nepal affected by earthquakes on 25 April and 12 May have revealed that some areas fell by three feet as a result of the tremors. A three-dimensional map showing changes in terrain indicates that some peaks actually increased in height, while areas of the Himalayan foothills were forced downwards. The most severe effects were felt in the central foothills, around the Kathmandu Valley. Read more: factually.gizmodo.com
