Volcanic earthquakes prompt warnings in Japan

Following a surge in volcanic earthquake activity around the popular hot spring town of Hakone, west of Tokyo, officials have barred tourists from using surrounding hiking trails and recreational areas. While authorities do not yet believe there is a high possibility of Hakone volcano erupting, there are concerns that hot steam could suddenly be expelled from the ground. Read more: japantimes.co.jp
