Chiang Mai monks offer lattes with a side of spirituality

A coffeeshop run by monks on the grounds of Wat San Gang Pla in Thailand’s Chiang Mai province is offering a spirituality boost with every cup of coffee accepted by visitors who make a donation. ‘The concept of Khon Mee Boon (‘Merit’) coffeeshop is that if you accept a drink without donating, the temple gets the merit. But if you drink and donate, you receive the merit as well,’ monk and barista Phra Thawatchai Khattiyamethee told the Bangkok Post.
