Plane hits tower and skids off runway in Hiroshima

An Asiana Airways plane struck a communications tower and skidded off the runway while landing at Hiroshima airport on Tuesday night. Flight OZ162 was travelling from Incheon, South Korea, with  73 passengers and eight crew members. All were evacuated from the aircraft, with some sustaining minor injuries. According to reports, the antenna from the communications tower was lodged in one of the wheels of the plane, with images from the airport showing damage to the tower. Authorities in Japan and South Korea have begun an investigation into the incident. Asiana Airways has apologised and stated it will work closely with authorities.  Read more: theguardian.com
