Relations between the US and Cuba could hit another historic milestone this week as the US State Department is expected to recommend that Cuba be removed from the State Sponsors of Terrorism list. Cuba’s inclusion on the list has been a major barrier to restoring normal diplomatic and economic relations between the two countries and has also hindered the possibility of removing all travel restrictions for American citizens travelling to Cuba. The only other countries on the US’s State Sponsors of Terrorism list at present are Iran, Syria and Sudan. North Korea was removed from the list in 2008. Read more: edition.cnn.com
