Heavy rains cause road closure in Western Cape

Flooding after heavy rainfall has caused a section of the N12 to be closed in the Western Cape . The closure of the Meiringspoort pass effectively cuts off access to the Little Karoo and Garden Route if visitors are travelling via Oudtshoorn. The Groot River flooded in the area on Monday night and trapped several vehicles, including a Greyhound bus with 18 passengers. The bus will be removed on Tuesday, but the pass will remain closed to vehicles until further notice. Read more: news24.com
