Boy has lucky escape as sea lion bites in San Diego

They might look cute but one five-year old has learnt the hard way that sea lions are best admired from a distance. The boy was with his family at La Jolla Cove, one of San Diego’s most popular beach spots, when he approached the sea lion which then bit him on the face. His family took him for a check-up at the hospital but he had no major injuries. A huge number of starving and sick sea lions have been found all along the Southern California coast this winter with officials baffled as to what’s causing the problems but warning visitors to keep their distance from the distressed animals.
