The city of Miami Beach, known for its bronze bodies, sandy beaches and art deco district will be celebrating its 100th birthday this week with a series of events billed as a 100-hour party. On Monday 100 couples will walk down a sandy aisle in one huge wedding party, and on Tuesday the pilot episode of Miami Vice will be projected onto the wall of the New World Center. The week will culminate on Friday, the actual anniversary of the day the city was incorporated, with a huge beach concert when the likes of Gloria Estefan, rapper Flo Rida and the Miami Symphony Orchestra will perform on the sands of South Beach.
