Rebuild of tourism industry a priority for Vanuatu

Planning for the rebuilding of the Vanuatu’s tourism industry has already begun just a week after much of the country was flattened by category five Cyclone Pam. Some operators are already back in business, for example the Island of Santo is tourism-ready again. Airstrips are being cleared of debris and airports repaired. Pilots have been transporting aid rather than taking tourists on scenic tours of volcanoes. Communicating with potential visitors on the status of different areas will be one of the challenges for attracting the tourist dollar back to Vanuatu as part of its recovery from Cyclone Pam.  Read more: abc.net.au
