New tour service offered for serious cyclists in Rio

With more than 155 miles of bicycle paths around the city, Rio de Janeiro is a great cycling destination for bike lovers of all levels. There are many rental options in Rio for novice riders, but until recently, more ambitious cyclists in need of fully equipped bikes had few options. Mauricio Herzog, a Brazilian native who spent 14 years in the US recently started CYCLIN RIO, a service that offers performance equipment and tours to experienced riders. A two-hour ride to Vista Chinese, a popular destination for road bikers, costs R$175 (US$70) and includes a bicycle (it’s an extra R$50/US$20 for a road bike). Read more: riotimesonline.com
