Tigerair to charge for overweight luggage

Tigerair, Australia’s low cost airline, is bringing its carry on luggage allowance down from 10kg to 7kg from 17 April. If passengers want to take more weight they will need to pay up to $46 for extra luggage depending on the length of their flight. The change brings Tigerair Australia in line with Jetstar and Virgin Australia which both enforce the same 7kg carry-on weight allowance. Qantas accepts two pieces of hand luggage each weighing 7kg.
