Baby giant tortoises born on Galapagos for first time in 100 years
Baby Pinzón giant tortoises have hatched for the first time in 100 years in the Galapagos Islands. In 1970, scientists discovered only 19 adult tortoises on Pinzón Island and transferred them to Santa Cruz Island, where the animals were placed into a captive breeding program. Now, 40 years after the program was put into place, conservationists have discovered six young hatchlings. Read more: mashable.com
