Liberia: no new Ebola cases as last patient released

The deputy health minister of Liberia has announced that there are currently no confirmed cases of Ebola in the country. The last patient with the disease was released from hospital on Thursday – the 58-year-old English teacher said she was ‘one of the happiest persons on Earth today’. According to WHO protocols and standards, the country must now wait 42 days before it can officially declare itself free from the disease. Read more: theguardian.com
