Kathmandu airport closed after crash landing

Kathmandu’s  international airport has been closed after a Turkish Airlines flight crashed on landing. The flight from Istanbul overshot the runway and crashed into the field beyond, causing damage to the aircraft but no casualties amongst the passengers and crew, who evacuated via the emergency slides. Investigations are underway but early reports suggest that poor visibility due to fog or a technical error may have played a part in the accident. Read more: nepalitimes.com
