Women become guardians of the forest in Nepal

In rural regions of Nepal, women are increasingly becoming the cheerleaders of conservation, thanks to efforts by local and international non-government organisations. Some 75% of Nepal’s population depend on firewood for heat and cooking, but deforestation is a growing issue that could prove devastating if forests are not properly managed.
