You might not always associate Los Angeles with history but a new mapping website aims to help dispel the idea of a city with no past. The maps have been sponsored by the Getty Conservation Institute and the city government, and allow users to focus on specific periods and architectural styles from Los Angeles’ history. The website’s creators hope it will appeal to a wide range of people including locals, visitors and film set scouts (it is LA after all). Take a look: historicplacesla.org
