Spain shakes off earthquake with social media jokes

Spaniards have flocked to social media to poke fun at the dramatic response to a minor earthquake tremor that shook central Spain on Monday. Using the hashtag #terremoto and #terremotomadrid, tweeters playfully posted pictures such as spilt milk, crooked photo frames hanging on the wall with the epitaph ‘Never forget’ and a garden chair knocked over with the caption ‘We will rebuild!’. The earthquake measured 5.2 on the Richter scale and the epicentre was at Ossa de Montiel near Albacete city, though the tremor was felt in several regions including Madrid, Valencia, Murcia and Castilla-La Mancha.
