Chinese travellers snap up a third of world’s duty-free shopping

Travellers from mainland China were responsible for purchasing nearly one third of global tax-free goods in 2014. Chinese shoppers were also the world’s biggest spenders last year, spending an average of about US$830 on each duty-free transaction. The most popular purchases were clothing, followed by watches and jewellery. The other top tax-free shoppers came from Russia, the US, Indonesia and Japan. Read more: wantchinatimes.com
