Cherry blossoms begin to bloom in Taiwan

Cherry blossom season has begun in Taiwan where the pink-and-white flowering trees have started to bloom. Northern areas of the island are expected to present the best viewing opportunities. Yangmingshan National Park north of Taipei is a perennial favourite spot for cherry blossom viewing, while inside the city, trees will be blossoming near a number of tourist hotspots, including Taipei 101 and the Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall.
