US moves a step closer to free travel in Cuba: credit cards and airlines ready

A bipartisan group of senators in the US have taken the first step to repeal the Cuba travel ban by introducing legislation that will enable the government to permanently remove all restrictions on Americans travelling to Cuba. The news comes as a handful of America’s biggest airlines and credit card companies reveal they are preparing to launch operations in Cuba, following President Obama’s move to re-establish diplomatic and economic ties between Cuba and the US in December.
