Chicago risks losing George Lucas museum due to red tape

George Lucas has said he may be considering Los Angeles for his new museum after all. The Star Wars film director has faced ongoing opposition in Chicago where he plans to take over 17 acres of prime lakefront land to build the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art. A lawsuit was filed in November by Friends of the Parks who argue that the project is a violation of the 14th Amendment. Lucas is still hoping the lawsuit will be dismissed but mentioned in an interview that the lack of bureaucracy in Los Angeles would be an advantage and that he is considering it as a ‘Plan B’, adding ‘I do want to get it done in my lifetime.’ Read more: chicagoist.com
