Construction to begin on Thai-China railway

Construction on a railway line connecting Thailand with China is to begin later this year. Phase one and two, which are expected to open in 2017, will connect Bangkok and Map Ta Phut with Kaeng Koi, while phase three and four, set to open in 2018, will link Kaeng Koi with Nakhon Ratchasima and then connect to China through the northeastern Thai province of Nong Khai.
