Tourist fined and passport confiscated after New Zealand crash
A Chinese tourist whose poor driving resulted in the hospitalisation of a German family after a crash on a busy New Zealand road has been ordered to pay NZ$20,000. Peng Liu was ordered to stay in the country until the fine was paid. Judge James Weir said the crash victims “were lucky to escape with their lives… a clear message needs to be sent out to foreign drivers who come into this country and cause this sort of mayhem.” Read more: stuff.co.nz
