Kathmandu second most vulnerable place to climate change

Kathmandu is more vulnerable to the effects of climate change than almost anywhere on earth, according to a new report. The city was second only to the Maldives in a study of regions most likely to be threatened by climate change, conducted by the Asian Development Bank. The study suggests that Nepal stands to lose 10% of its GDP by 2100 due to the impact of melting glaciers, pollution and the impact on infrastructure caused by a massive influx of economic migrants driven from the countryside by environmental degradation.
